Art: Community: Play
Katarina Prior
Visual Artist, Workshop developer, Project Manager

Hello!
I am an artist, I draw, paint, film, photograph, create installations and community projects.
I am inspired by nature and the environment and often use nature to help me portray a message in my work. I make work to bring people together and encourage them to consider an issue I am passionate about with the aim of inspiring change.
I am based in Edinburgh but work across Scotland and Cumbria.
I work at the charity Whale Arts helping to manage the adult and young people programmes. I am lead artist on one of their creative groups, Smartcraft which is a group for adult with additional needs.
I run regular creative workshops with the Edinburgh Remakery. I regularly work at public events, from big town centre events, festivals to smaller community events.
I have over 10 years’ experience in event and project management and marketing, from running my own arts projects and working with organisations.
I have a fine art degree from Central Saint Martins, London and diploma in Social Enterprise Leadership (Arts and Cultural Leadership) with University of Cumbria and the Brathay Trust.
